PROJECT BASED LEARNING IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE TEACHING

ABSTRACT
Project-based learning (PjBL) is a learning and teaching approach that requires students to obtain new knowledge and skills and helps them to overcome real-life questions, and makes them design their own studies and performances. The purpose of this study is to investigate the benefits of applying Project Based Learning in teaching English. This study used descriptive qualitative method. English teachers in MTs Negeri Sukasari Cimahi were selected as the respondents of this study. Interview was used in order to gather data. Then, the data obtain the results of the research shows that project based learning (PjBL) has several benefits such as helping students’ understand the material easily, improving students’ critical thinking, helping students learn vocabulary and grammar better and fostering students’ interest.
